Yeah, it's been a while. Just for a reality check, I was telling Mr S this morning on the way to the gym that I realize this seems to come around every year, the seasonal thing, and he said I don't seem to be struggling quite as badly as usual.

This was good news I spose, as I was thinking I was not coping at all well. It doesn't help that I seem to have signed on for a lot of responsibilities and obligations and activities at a time when I might have predicted from previous experience that I was not going to get jack shit done for at least a couple of months.

For me doing "nothing" right now involves working out vigorously three times a week, and mallwalking a mile or more on most of the off days. I decided during the New Years life-assessment festival that exercise (not to mention sleep) needs to be the top priority in my life because when I am feeling bad nothing else works. And as I used to say when I was working in an office, for other people who all had their highly important projects for me to juggle, There Can Only Be One First Priority. Trying to stick with the rudiments of a schedule, some days I just don't get very far. And LiveJournal hasn't been much a part of it. I haven't been taking any medications. I've written another apazine, collated and mailed 300 copies of Wabe, read a few books, cooked some darn good dinners, watched the email pile up, collated another Turboapa, watched a lot of teevee, played a lot of solitaire, thrown some paint on paper and watched it dry. Getting. Any. Of. This. Done. Means. One. Step. At. A. Time.

I am not most pleased that Mr S can watch me, as he says, "struggle", without comment either positive or negative.

Seems to me that February would be a much better month than November for me to try writing the novel. I am always already a space case in February. The hassles of the holidays are over. And besides, it's the shortest month.
