Spent a bit of the morning in an arts-group meeting, to coordinate the usual autumn all-guild show at the Hilldale shopping mall. The mall has lost a lot of tenants, and had a mumble mumble change of management again lately, and since I've been in this show with the Wisconsin Calligraphers' Guild group since er 1988 it was time for a show of support, for the merchants who love all the business we bring in if not the management. So I told the Madison Art Guild organizer that yes, our little study group would provide artwork to hang in the Hilldale business office for a period of three months next year.

I have all this miscellaneous inventory of wall pieces in boxes in my basement. Only problem is the three months in question (Jan-Feb-Mar) also covers the weekend of the spring show when I will have a chance to get it all out and try to sell em again. And the same goes for the three other people I could ask to join me showing their stuff in the office display. I looked at the space available and there's a small waiting room, and a large workroom, both with big blank walls, neither of them high traffic, but one might expect store owners and corporate types to traipse through occasionally.

So I have effectively committed myself to hanging two dozen or so fairly large pieces on January 5. (Or maybe small ones, but why waste all that wall space? I'm so tired of fitting everything into a four foot square panel in an 8x10 booth.) Better there than packed in boxes in my basement, sez I. Uh, do I have that many? Well, I'll just have to paint some more.

Off to ceramics class now, to break the news to Marcia (who can reasonably be expected to have a wall or two of stuff to show).
