Last night the second Law and Order episode (yeah right, there are many hours of fantasy programming every week under that title) was one we'd seen before, so we watched the new cop show Karen Sisco although the second episode of the show that we tried watching last week was far too predictable. This one was better.

The actress, Carla Gugino, oughtta play Anita Blake (Vampire Hunter) if that series ever makes it to the screen. She is curiously enough the same character: tiny sexy little femme, more or less on the side of right, tough as nails, with a big gun and not afraid to use it. Instead of vampire and werewolf boyfriends, in this show the eligible men are convicts, or married G-men. Had to laugh when her dinner date started questioning her on how many men she had shot and she tried desperately to change the subject, "Don't you wanna know how many men I've slept with? or how much I weigh?"

Gotta wonder what's going on in the national psyche to have this powerful female dream figure pop up. "It must be tough, a pretty girl, pissing in the sandbox with the boys all day, and having no one to handcuff at night."
