While the rest of the country has been getting our winter, we are enjoying continued pleasant weather. The lakes are still frozen (enough for the experienced ice fisherman to be out on them yet) but the temperatures were up in the fifties today. So for the third day in a row I had my walk outside. Since we started going to the gym I had stopped devoting nearly as much time to walking as I used to, but since I haven't been able to go to the gym the last couple weeks, it is a big deal today that I went a whole mile and a half and no worse for the wear. Mr S went too, and we cut through some parking lots and one back alley in the neighborhood that we had literally never been through.
Two doors down from our house we found the neighbors had put out three cedar deck chairs, including two sturdy folding ones, for the trash collection tomorrow. Nothing particularly wrong with them, except that the varnish had weathered off of them, and the rocking chair one was a bit rickety. Once we had hauled them home that only required tightening of screws, and since we have on hand every size and kind of screwdriver known to mankind that was a bit of afternoon amusement. And they match our deck perfectly, weathered gray. Well worth the expense, eh?
