Well, our jury discussion of the Tiptree Award must drag its weary bones a bit further as we finish our listing of recommended reading. But we have the go-ahead from the Motherboard and can now go (boldly of course) tell everyone the winners of the Tiptree Award, exploring and expanding the understanding of gender boundaries, for work in 2002. And yes, envelope please, there are two winners again this year, in alphabetical order:
LIGHT by M. John Harrison! and
"Stories for Men" by John Kessel (Asimov's Oct/Nov)
Harrison will be at Seacon, but Kessel can't make it there, although I hear he will come to WisCon -- so you can expect the festivities to extend across months and oceans. And no fighting over who gets to wear the tiara. I understand they are both pleased with the prospect. (And it isn't a split prize, it's a full prize for each.)
