Weeks pass like nothing. Fortunately I have thousands of weeks behind me, and some confidence that out of a few words at a time entire pages are eventually assembled. Progress over the weekend came pretty much in the form of groceries stocked, and a couple of chairs cleared off that had been the seats of piles of CDs and picture frames. We call it shopping in the basement, when I root around down here and find unworn clothing and useful household items, like the new old shower curtain, all washed and folded and ready to install just like, well, new. I have decided the fanzine collection needs stackable boxes, six of them -- cardboard or even another file cabinet won't do. Went garage sailing Saturday, and pottered around on the deck watering plants, trimmed off an overgrown citronella, and rooted half a dozen cuttings from it. We saw the new Clint Eastwood movie, Blood Work, and watched an old James Bond (The Spy Who Loved Me) on network television.

This time of year brings the worst weather for me. The wild barometric changes as fronts pass through give the usual irregular aches of what you might call my rheumatism a more painful piercing character. If I stay inside in the air conditioning, it actually helps. With thunderstorms going through this evening, the outside of the windows are fogging up with moisture like the condensation on a cold drink.
