So I asked the Google-oracle "how to write business plan" just like that and it came up with about a zillion answers in like tenths of a second. It looks like the kind of thing I don't want to put a lot of time into unless at some time I should contemplate taking out a big loan to buy a bunch of cool equipment. Since I already have more art supplies than I know what to do with, that is not likely. What put the idea in my head was reading an article about a class offered for women who want to start their own businesses, and then realizing that I already had taken whole courses in all the stuff listed. Got good grades too. Maybe I haven't made the best application of my knowledge. If making a lot of money was that important to me, though, obviously I would have been doing something entirely different with my life, like law, or investment banking. The Crimson Mutual Assurance!
But it might be kind of fun in a wierd kind of way, taking a boilerplate sole-proprietorship plan and working it up to describe my own thing. The reason I think so is probably the same reason I took all those accounting and business classes once upon a time. In the textbooks they always call their fictitious cases Acme Widget Factory or Acme Consulting or like that (where Coyote orders all his explosive devices). It might clarify some areas I need to work on. Nah, it might also be a waste of time better spent otherwise.
In further developments today, the forsythia are finally out. I always liked that word, a hard one for such a simple flower. Forsythia forsythia.
