Oh I was going to report on the puzzle update. It has been a bit of shuffle to keep all the other stuff off the coffee table, but I have managed it. Kitty is not too pleased that my newspapers and books and mail tend to pile up on her sofas, where only her pillows and her blankets and her people to sit on are supposed to be. The coffee table was sort of my desk, though, so I haven't quite worked out how to remember to mail things and so forth.
But we finished working the lovely flower puzzle, and then we worked a big round dolphin puzzle, very enjoyable for everyone. Now we have got a hellishly difficult puzzle of Van Gogh's Irises. While the painting as a whole looks quite definitely like irises, and leaves and flowers, with plain lines and bright colors, in pieces an inch across anything recognizable has disappeared. It is all just colors and brush strokes. Very abstract. In the evening the light is not good enough for our old eyes to see the fine differences of color. And I am terrible at recognizing the shapes, even how many innies and outies to look for. On the other hand it is an interesting way of studying Van Gogh's technique. But it could take a while.
